Helping Families in

Need

When life gets crazy, it’s good to have friends to support you. So what is a mom, a dad, or a grandparent to do when they have no one to help them? What if they’ve never connected with their neighbors, a local church, or their coworkers? Helping families in need is the core mission of Safe Families. We firmly believe that the church can – and should – be the main hub of support where the body of Christ provides assistance in times of need.

Compelled by Christ’s love, our mission is to empower communities and the local church to host children and support families in need who have nowhere to turn when facing a crisis.

Who We Serve

We mobilize the church to build support systems around families in crisis who are experiencing:

Story

It really means a lot to be able to talk to a parent that has been struggling and say, ‘Let’s talk about what you need and see how we can help.’

After previously working in the foster care system, I know firsthand that the need for family support systems is greater than most people ever realize.

To serve with Safe Families and stir up the gifts of people in the church to exercise Biblical hospitality is a real joy. There are many who have a heart to help, and Safe Families provides connections and opportunities for the church to be the church in our communities.

Recently, my family had two young boys join us for a week while mom was in the hospital delivering their baby brother. It was amazing to watch them bond in such a short time, and mom knew they were in a safe environment and being loved and cared for well.

As a parent of three myself, I can’t hardly imagine what it would be like to not have any family to help… to not know anyone to be able to call for help… to not have any friends or co-workers to watch my kids in an emergency.

Safe Families is a great way to show people who have never been a part of a church that we care… that God loves them… and there is a place for them to connect and experience true community.
